God Rules Over the Sea

Job 38:8-11 ESV
"Or who shut in the sea with doors when it burst out from
the womb, when I made clouds its garment and thick darkness its
swaddling band, and prescribed limits for it and set bars and doors, and
said, 'Thus far shall you come, and no farther, and here shall your proud
waves be stayed'?"

Below is a link to an article that is posted on Monergisms website on the subject of Open Theism.
Foreknowledge of God and Open Theism
The book pictured is No Other God by John Frame. This is an excellent book for someone wants an understanding of the false teachings of Open Theism as well as a better understanding of the sovereignty of God. One chapter deals with the subject of Nature and the will of God. This chapter may peak your interests in light of the recent natural disasters that have occured throughout the world.

In a nut shell Open Theists have an overwhelming desire to attribute free will in all areas of life to mankind (libertarian freedom). They also teach that God does not know the future and is not in direct control of all things. By doing so they have taken God who transcends time and placed him within the constraints of His creation. He now experiences new things along with mankind and the rest of creation. Thus, natural disasters are a supprise to God as well as the everyday descisions that humans make. This in their minds removes Gods responsibility to bad things that happen when in fact all they have done is created a god that is more like man. This also creates a god that we cannot trust since he does not know the future. In fact the God of Open Theism changes his mind since He experiences new things. So not only can we not trust in His being in control we also cannot trust Him to keep his word.

I recommend No Other God to those who want a fuller understanding of Gods will and Sovereign control in our lives.
